This year’s dynamic keynote speaker was Michael Stephens, Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at Dominican University. He loves technology and encouraged us to embrace it.
Michael moved throughout his audience as he encouraged us to jump head first into the 21st century. If you were trying to take his picture, you had an impossible task. If you wanted to learn more about the many ways to use technolgy to promote libraries and library services, you only had to listen to his lively presentation.
He posted his slides on his Web site for his keynote address and for the session he and Jenny Levine presented.

Thanks, Michael, for a great start for our 19th Conference!

There are two winners of this year’s Oberman/Rich Award: Heidi Knuth and Patrick Rossi, Sr. Both received their awards at the conference on May 1. Committee member Denise Zielinski presented the award to these two deserving winners.
Congratulations, Heidi and Patrick!
Steven Larson is this year’s Doyle Award winner. Unfortunately, he was not at the conference to receive his award.
Congratulations, Steven!
On April 30, 2010, Reaching Forward will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The conference will again be held at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
We have already begun planning for this great event. We would like to invite some of the best speakers from years past.
If you have a favorite or two, let us know or join the committee and help plan this banner year’s conference.
